The Wusthof Grand Prix2 9 piece Santoku block set comes with a wide variety of useful knives as well a the function Santoku. The set includes a 3" straight parer, a wonderful tool for making exacting straight line cuts, a 3.5" parer for peeling and paring, a 4.5" multi-prep for small chopping jobs when the parer just isn't big enough, a 5" tomato knife for slicing tomatos and small breads or bagels and 8" hollow ground carving knife that cuts with less resistance leaving the juices in your meats. The 7" Santoku is a knife of "3 Virtues" for chopping, slicing as well as dicing. The hollow ground edge of the Santoku allows food to release from the blade as tiny air pockets are formed. Also included are Come Apart kitchen shears for triming herbs or a variety of other house hold chores, a 17 slot block to store your Grand Prix2 knives and a honing steel to keep you knives sharp and ready to use. Wusthof Grand Prix2 knives are made in "The Cutlery Capital of the World", Solingen Germany. Each manufacturing step is performed to exacting standards by skilled German workers aided by the most modern, computer guided equipment. Some of our precise steps are done robotically and utilize the same machinery that are used to produce very well known Swiss Watches.
